Introduction

Luxurious is a CD-ROM authoring tool that makes it quick and easy to build slide-based presentations. If you can provide a folder of slides as .JPG image files, you can use Luxurious to create a front-end which will show flawlessly on Windows and Macintosh computers when burned to CD.

There are two parts to Luxurious - the development environment (which, from now onwards, will be referred to simply as "Luxurious"), and a runtime executable which you burn onto the CD you are producing (this is known as "Begin").

System Requirements

Luxurious requires a modern operating system running on a machine with reasonable specifications. That means a Macintosh running MacOS 9.0 or higher (Luxurious is Mac OS X native), or a PC running Windows 98, NT, 2000 or XP. A minimum of 32MB RAM is required, although more is recommended.

Downloading Luxurious

Version 1.2 is now available. This version is now available to the public for general download and use. The software may be used in Demo mode to try out the software, although any presentations saved whilst in Demo mode will not work with the Begin software. To remove this restriction, a serial number will need to be purchased, which will grant you a non-exclusive royalty-free license for use.

Purchasing a serial number

In order to use the software fully, you must purchase a serial number, which will grant you a non-exclusive royalty-free license to use Luxurious and distribute the Begin software. One serial number may only be used with one computer - sharing a serial number is a violation of the license agreement. Read through the tutorial to see a step-by-step approach to using Luxurious. The tutorial demonstrates all the major features of the software. The slides used in the tutorial are included with the software, so you can try out the software as you read it.

A non-exclusive royalty-free license grants you the right to freely use Luxurious to develop and deploy multimedia presentations on any media for the duration of the license. Updates and support for the software is provided upon request.
